An NSF-Funded Project WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE
?
Most students are not aware that 8 of the 10 fastest growing jobs over the next decade (according to the U.S. Department of Labor), and by the way also the highest paying jobs, will require graduates with 4-year college degrees in computer science or information technology. The best way for a high school student to prepare themselves to succeed in a computer science or information technology college-level degree program is to successfully complete the Advanced Placement Computer Science course.
A full CyberTech - ITEST scholarship will enable students to begin their CyberTech experience with the unique on campus experience of SummerTech. In SummerTech students will learn the Visual Basic.NET programming language and be prepared to take and successfully complete AP Computer Science A. Then, during the school year following SummerTech they will take and successfully complete the on-line AP Computer Science course from Kennesaw State University. Along the way, they will have had the opportunity to earn high school credit and prepare themselves for one of the most fascinating careers in tomorrows exciting world of the computing sciences.
